*THE BLOOD THAT SPOKE*

The paranoia which seems to be eternally gone has returned to the environs, breaking the innocence of the chaste room which no rumbles of snores have earlier perturbed. But here comes a whirling wind, that brings stormy waves and frets to the virgin grasses and roots.Even the pen trembles to write of that which must be written,to tell that which must be told..Of how the pieces of a woman was left to roam on regional footpaths. The blood itself will not leave traces, for she was not laced in a tomb. When an antelope is caught in a trap,it is only a rite that it passes its final night in a pit.But what is to justify a situation when the crevices of the antelope slept in the hunter's domicile, the fangs at the footpath to a ten-miles river and the tails,at the border of another land ? This was,how a poor mother of three was dismantled *somewhere in Africa*,as if to justify Conrad's *Africa, one of the darkest places on earth*.
And as predicted, waves of indecision filled the atmosphere.Men pitting against men, women against men. Everyone was a prime suspect, for when the bellies of all lizards lay flat, how is the one with belly-ache plucked out ? Just like Rotimi's Odewale would have it said,'...Suspicions,heavy suspicions fill my heart.I look about me...eyes,white,vacant,innocent,they stare back from faces of sorrow and pain. But the faces may as well be smiling. For who knows what is behind those eyes:white eyes, vacant eyes, innocent eyes ?...'
And after one hundred and forty-four hours of intense heat and diggings, the anus of the fowl was blown open by airy air.Skillfully and cautiously,I tip-toed towards the cotton..my fingers afraid to prickle the cotton open and see who was behind the veil.It was more of an Herculean task to tear off the mask of Gelede masquerade without being an initiate, else the mighty Oro would wine in cupful of an ignorant's blood. But was this ignorance..it was adamancy! The blood was ready to speak for itself, the fingers ready to prickle, the oculus ready to gaze and the mask about to unveil.
And in less than a milliseconds, the once-broken innocence was re-incarnated.Like a fraternal demon *abiku*,the defiled peace here return with all bruises and scars earlier inflicted. Not in the wildest image, was the shadow behind the cotton..the remunerator of the victim's pride-price ?

GASPED ? 😳 You should do that once more..
