POETS UPON POETS

I have seen them;
Whose inks are never frozen,
Whose right hand, writes right,
But their motive paints left.

‘I’ve seen poets upon poets.’

Poets in political suit and tie,
Protesting against injustice,
Campaigning transformation,
Penning hope to the audience,
But in their pocket are countless
coins of traded audience.

‘I’ve seen poets upon poets.’

Poets in prophetic garment,
Voicing words of purification,
Soaked in rhythm and rhymes,
Like the disciples drunk in tongues,
But their soul forbids redemption.

‘I’ve seen poets upon poets.’

Poets stitching broken words,
Creating SELFIE with words,
Carving sense out from nonsense,
Sprinkling words of wisdom,
But in common sense, they perish!

‘I’ve seen poets upon poets.’

So don’t tell me about;
Williams Shakespeare,
Williams Wordsworth,
Robert Adamson or
Emily Dickinson
What difference does it make,
When the Poet isn’t the poem?

Show me a baby writer,
Who doesn’t have punches in
his lines or figures of speech,
But lives by his writings,
I will crown him my Poet,
Spreading his existence like rumour,
Cause I have seen poets upon poets.
